Knowing the culture of places through flavors. The kitchen in this house has acquired an important role, as it was created as an island as a stage, to be able to admire and learn the Italian flavors. During the cooking lessons the Chefs offered what they cooked for the guests and owners.

Introduction

The building is located in the historic center of an Italian medieval city. The structure of the building is built in bearing stone masonry. The dibisori instead are built in solid brick masonry.

The floors of the building are composed, in the basement by stone vaults, in the first and second floor by brick vaults, while the third floor was composed of a mixed floor as over time the building has had an elevation.

Main entrance

The terrazed house building type. It overlooks the town square, while in its back it has a large green garden. At its entrance it has two large arched doors, built in solid wood.

Secondary entrances

On the back of the building there are two entrances, the first entrance is located on the ground floor through a service door. The second entrance is more important if it has on the first floor, from which door you access first to a terrace then on the terrace there is a flight of steps that takes you into the garden.

The restoration and recovery projec

The clear house project was born from the customer's desire to have a holiday home, in an ancient and medieval Italian village.

The client purchased a ruin-type building, which has been totally redeveloped in its original splendor. A loft conversion was also made to the building to further expand the spaces, as well as changes were made to all floors, to improve functionality, trying to keep the original pieces as much as possible, as part of floors and decorations, frescoes of ceiling, original stair railing ect.

Demolition and removal

The works began with a total demolition of the roof, all the partitions, plasters, systems and services. preserving only countertops with frescoes, existing floors of a certain importance, conservation of, railings and wooden elements of important historical value. To then restore and recover part of the damaged stuco and frescoes. The demolitions also included a series of illegal additions previously made to this building. Parts that made it unpleasant both from an aesthetic and functional point of view.

Structural reinforcements

Emptying of vaults and strengthening of existing stone vaults.
Repair of existing load-bearing walls.
Opening of load-bearing walls with the insertion of arches.
Lightening of the floors.

Restauration

- Metallic railings for balconies in wrought iron.
- Stair railings, nineteenth-century style.
- Frame of the large window overlooking the garden made of wood in American style.
- Stucco decorations of the main facade, in Rococo style belonging to the 17th century.
-Frescoes with paintings of religious symbols and family crests, drawn inside the vaults in the rooms.

On site, as well as the workers specializing in restoration and renovation, we also involved important designers and restorers from the academies of fine arts.
