Project for the redevelopment and regeneration of outdoor spaces through urban furniture.
Urban spaces are places that contain our memories. Every corner of the city we live in contains a memory of us.
The table that best expresses this concept, and the first introductory table, in which a girl is shown who is getting married in the same square that she had played and grown up as a girl.
The spaces to be redeveloped in total are 5 main squares in the city. The furnishing elements designed are all elements that integrate with the surrounding buildings and spaces of the city.
The conformation module starts out as a game of chess. In which module you can have numerous configurations to adapt the squares in all different circumstances. Maximum customization and flexibility.
In total we have 10 different elements of street furniture, which can be produced in series and in large quantities according to the needs. The cost for their realization involves a considerable saving as they are easily reproducible products. All materials that can be used for construction are recyclable materials. The benches are made with layers of resin that resist time and even shocks. The seats have rubbery material that limits damage in the event of a collision. The rubber-like material of the mirror resin type allows you to have a warm bench even during the winter, making it usable in all seasons. the benches, in addition to being functional and aesthetically qualifying elements, are also equipped with USB mobile phone charging, and daytime lighting. The garbage cans have been designed to contain several bags to allow the recycling of garbage. The lighting is made through LEDs to have greater energy savings, and possibly rechargeable through sources of clean and sustainable energy for the environment. The project contains innovation and research both in the field of design, in the study of materials, and in the study of the functionality of the furniture elements over time. Through these flexible modules, the redevelopment of urban spaces is managed not only by the municipality but also by the people who use these spaces every day. The square as a chessboard that conforms by following flexible and simple rules, furnishing and adapting it really becomes a child’s game.
